Winners announced!The winners of Retail Week's 2011 Skillsmart Retail Rising Stars Awards were announced last night at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. Dragon's Den star and retail heavyweight, Theo Paphitis, helped open the show with a speech that kept the crowd entertained. He once again praised all the rising stars in retail and commended the retail sector as a whole with how they have dealt with trading conditions over the last year. Comedian Russell Kane later entertained around 500 of the sector's rising stars, with the celebrations lasting until the early hours. See the full list of winners here. With a record number of entries, this year the judges found it harder than ever to reach their final decisions, so congratulations to all who were successful. Retail Week features editor Charlotte Hardie said: "The achievements of all the winners have proved just how much young talent there is in the retail sector. The quality of entries for the Rising Star Awards keeps on getting better, and there were so many examples this year of instances in which retailers' up and coming employees are making tangible differences to their workplaces as a whole. Retailers constantly have to contend with the fact that not enough people view retail as a viable career option, but this year's winners are evidence of how much can be achieved with dedication and natural retailing skills."
